57es Journées de Statistique de la SFdS>

Satellite events

Satellite events will take place on Friday, June 5.

Event organized by the Computo editorial committee

Computo is the academic journal of the *SFdS* promoting reproducibility in the machine learning and statistics community, open to all digital approaches that fall within this scope. Computo is based on transparent editorial practices, encourages the sharing of code, data, and methods, and offers a technical pipeline that facilitates the production of static (PDF) and dynamic (interactive HTML) articles that are reproducible at any time, accessible, and reusable.

The workshop, open to all, will take place in two stages:

  • Morning (3 hours): general presentation (slides, ~45 min) on reproducibility and the Computo pipeline, followed by a practical introduction to reproducible submission with a mock paper based on the TSNE example.

  • Afternoon (2 hours), optional: “pre-submission” extension for participants who already have a structured article, in order to handle their submission material in a Computo framework.

Registration is open to everyone, subject to availability.

A preconfigured software container will be provided to simplify technical setup (prerequisites: basic skills in Python or R, and an interest in literate programming tools such as Quarto).

Registration is open via this survey. Number of places limited to 25.

Events organized by the Specialized Group on Statistics Education

The SFdS Statistics Education Group is offering two workshops on statistics education in higher education for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and recent PhD graduates. These workshops will take place in Clermont-Ferrand on June 5, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of the 57th SFdS Statistics Days.

Two workshops are available :
  • For everyone: A didactic look at teaching statistics in higher education. The case of descriptive statistics in non-specialist fields.
  • For those who already have some experience: How to build a statistics course on linear regression.

Participation in these workshops is free, but places are limited (30 per workshop). Registration is therefore mandatory using the form below. You will receive a confirmation message by May 26, 2026, at the latest.

Events organized by the Statistics and Sports Group

Friday, June 5 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.)

The Statistics and Sports group is organizing a satellite event on Friday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., combining field data collection in the morning and guided statistical analysis in the afternoon.

Morning (9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. approx.) – Volleyball tournament

A volleyball tournament will be organized with four teams of six to eight players (a maximum of 32 participants).
Teams will be formed on site: registration is individual.

Two types of measurements will be taken :

  • Heart rate, using Polar heart rate monitors;
  • Point-by-point scoring of matches.

The tournament will take place at the Edith-Tavert sports center gym (RN89, 63100 Clermont-Ferrand), which has two courts. The gym is located about 10 minutes by car from the Cézeaux campus.
The event is being organized in conjunction with the Clermont STAPS.

Afternoon (2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.) – Statistical analysis of data

Back on the Cézeaux campus, participants will use a classroom to statistically process the data collected in the morning (heart rate and point-by-point scores).
The workshop will be guided, and participants will work on their own computers.
